In the middle of the coast of Western
Australia lies the small village Exmouth at the Ningaloo Reef. Beneath some
accommodation for backpackers, one campground and some motels and hotels there
is no other accommodation to stay overnight.
When you come to Exmouth you have either snorkelling or diving on your mind
or you are looking for kangaroos in the nature park which lies right at the
beach.
Tourists from all over the world meet here to join the famous whale shark tours.
Fortunately there are enough dive centers so it isn't overcrowded there.

The Ningaloo Reef is
famous for its whale sharks which show up every year in March and stay there
for approximately 4 months. But also the diving at the Ningaloo Reef itself
is a pleasure.
Who decides to go diving in Exmouth should not be in a hurry as each dive ends
in a half-day-trip: First the bus transfer from the diving center to the jetty
and then the boat trip to the dive site. These trips are however fun as the
crew from the Exmouth Diving Centre
is always in a good temper.
Recommendable are the dive sites Muiron Island or Navy Pier. The Navy Pier can
be reached from the beach and after some meters you meet the first animals which
call the pier their home - there's life wherever you look. At this place you
can also meet the amazing carpetsharks (Wobbegong).
