We visited Hurghada by the end of September 2002. We stayed there for over 3 weeks as we did our instructor training. During the whole time we stayed at the Coral Beach Hotel as the dive center Dive-Point lies within the resort.
The hotel itself is a huge place with lots of bungalows. The bungalows are very nice, spacious and have each an own balcony. The pools and the whole place are well kept - but as usual for Egypt everything looks kind of bald - but you get used to that quite fast.
The restaurant and the food were average, but you get used to that as well fast.
The dive center is simply perfect!!! You can book everything here from trial dives over daytrips to several PADI advanced training up to IDC Staff Instructor training. You'll find a very competent and friendly staff!!! If you go diving in Hurghada we can highly recommend to go to Dive-Point.

The Coral Beach Hotel has its own house reef which can be reached on foot at the end of the jetty - it invites the guests to go snorkelling or diving without any transport.
On several days we went on one-day-trips with Dive-Point. The trips offer 2-3 dives a day, depending on the dive sites they are heading for.
We especially liked the beautiful coral gardens which could be found at many dive sites. During our dives we saw numerous bluespotted stingrays, scorpionfish, nudibranchs and pufferfish!!! We even could watch a huge lionfish as well as a porcupinefish which were both swimming away from the reef out in the blue water.
We liked very much the dive site El Fanadir: Beautiful hard- and soft corals with numberless glassfish, moray eels, octopus and and and…we could have stayed there for days and still be attracted to this place!!!
