The Island lies amongst the Great
Barrier Reef and can be reached from Townsville by car ferry within 30 minutes.
Magnetic Island is covered with tropical plants and bushes and makes an adventurous
impression thanks to its pure nature. There are only some small motels, apartments
and backpacker accommodation. If you are looking for luxury you won't find it
on this island - but you will find a lot of coziness. Only little restaurants
offer more or less varied menus.
Stress is an unknown word on Magnetic Island and the visitors enjoy it. They
spend their days relaxing on the beach, going on long walks on the beautiful
trails or diving.
Who really wants to relax and to forget the daily worries should go to Magnetic
Island for a couple of days and enjoy the pure nature - and forget about the
hectic life.

You can make a full
day trip with Pleasure Divers
to the famous Yongala Wreck. It lies about 3 hours by boat in the middle of
the open sea and you must expect always middle to strong current there.
The wreck is in a very good condition and is covered all over by corals. There
are so many different corals and life everywhere you don't know where you should
look first. Turtles, sea snakes, stingrays, napoleons, batfish and so on can
be seen there all the time.
Mostly you do two dives there because the place is so beautiful as one is not
enough to see everything.
