The 8-day live aboard to the Burma
Banks with Santana Diving
starts at Patong Beach with the MV Discovery.
With 8 double cabins, 3 toilets, 2 showers and lots of places to hang around
in the shade it offers everything for such a trip. The dive platform offers
enough space, as long as not all divers start to prepare at the same time -
so it is a good idea to have the divers split in different groups which make
comfortable and relaxed preparations possible.
At Kawthong the entry formalities for Myanmar (former Burma) had to be handled.
That gives you the chance to go to the small busy village for a short period
of time.

A live aboard trip from
Phuket to the Burma Banks resp. to the Mergui Archipelago is a special experience.
Mostly there's no other boat around which makes this trip even more adventurous.
One of the favourite dive sites is called Shark Cave where you can expect nurse
sharks and a lot of grey reef sharks cruising around the rock.
You can also see manta rays, black blotched stingrays, cuttlefish, zebra sharks,
lobsters, groupers, seahorses and a lot of other wet underwater residents.
Most of the dives are quite deep and therefore it is a fairly demanding dive
area but with a lot of worthwhile encounters.
