The beautiful Vakarufalhi is our favourite island. It lies in the southeastern part of the Ari Atoll and can be reached by seaplane within 25 minutes (94 km from Male). With its size of 200 x 250 meters, Vakarufalhi is one of the smaller islands of the Maldives.
For the guests there are 50 bungalows available (most of them are single bungalows). The food in the open-air restaurant is delicious - most of the time you can enjoy the meals from the rich buffet.
The island is abundantly covered with vegetation - lots of palm trees and other tropical plants.
While staying on this island you won't need any shoes - besides your fins, of course! You also don't have to get "overdressed" - leisure clothing is just perfect.
Even though we swore to never visit an island more than once, we already were here several times until now: April 2001, November 2001, April 2002 and now we are even employed here since December 2003.

There are approximately 35 dive sites to go with ProDivers. Most of the dive sites lie in the canal to the outer reef and can be reached by Dhoni within 15 to 35 minutes.
Vakarufalhi also has a house reef which can directly be dived from the jetty.
The dive sites are very diversified. Some reef tops lie at approximately 10 meters and a lot of corals are still intact.
While diving you can see so many beautiful animals like napoleons, moray eels, frogfish, turtles, grey reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks, stingrays, scorpionfish or big schools of fish. You should keep your eyes open for all the beautiful small things like the colourful nudibranchs or ghost pipefish.
Our favourite dive sites are those which the boats head for during the day trips. We saw manta rays, pygmy devil rays as well as eagle rays. During the right season and with a bit luck you will see whale sharks on your trips!!
